AT&T Turns iPhone Into $600.00 Paper-WAIT

Ah yes, you stood line for 10 hours to get your hands on the ultimate status phone, the new iPhone from Apple. You plopped down your $600.00 and rushed home to set up service. You call AT&T Wireless, Apples carrier of choice to turn the phone and wireless service on. You get…

Nothing.

According to news reports, AT&T was having problems getting peoples phones to activate. While most people were able to use their phones fairly quick, some users were experiencing delays of 18 hours or more. That’s just the kind of thing that someone who spent time in a sleeping bag to buy your gadget just loves hearing. Then again, anyone who has used AT&T Wireless probably isn’t shocked. I once waited 72 hours to get my phone hooked up.

Over priced phone + under-performing network + poorly performing Wireless company staff? What’s not to like?

  1. Agreed!!  Big time bust a la Newton.  I’ll wait until the 30gig comes out for Sprint though.

  2. Tom:Also… I wonder if it has the red circle of death on it.
